The dress in the top picture is modeled by my Revlon-lookalike and went to a lady out of state. It is a lovely yellow plaid cotton and she carries a tote to put her purchases in after a day of shopping.

The wedding dress in the second picture was made from a vintage Advance pattern. My vintage bubblecut Barbie is wearing the dress waiting to walk down the aisle to marry Ken at long last. Made from a white satin, it features a fitted bodice, puffed sleeves and a very full skirt.

The last picture is the same doll wearing a spring dress of yellow floral cotton. Tiny seed beads are used for "buttons" on the dress front. The style is the same as the famous "Pak dresses" from the sixties.

Making vintage recreations is something that I enjoy. Maybe it's because it takes me back to my long ago childhood and the wishes for the wonderful fashions that Barbie and other dolls of the era had then.

Some of my vintage outfits

This lovely dress is being modeled by my AA Silkstone Barbie. It is made from a raspberry colored satin.

Christmas long ago

Wanted to share this photo of Sandy and I taken on a long ago Christmas. Sandy is on the left and that's me on the right. In the middle is the little blue metal doll crib and doll peeking over the top I got that year. Sadly, both the doll and the crib are long gone.

Boy, the year sure has gone by fast. Not much to show for it where my dolls are concerned. Most of what I have done has been for customers. But here is one that I have worked on recently-my 18" Miss Revlon. Her dress is made from Nova Scotia tarten that I bought when we were there this summer on vacation. Dress needs a bit of altering, but looks charming on her. Also have been sewing for my newest Miss Revlon-a 20" beauty and my Valentine ballerina. Their new outfits are finished, just haven't got any pictures taken of them yet. Will get some pictures soon and get them posted.

The weather is changing around here. Last night we actually got snow flurries. Guess old man winter will be coming again wheather we want him to or not.

Been quite a while since I have posted with a new job and everything. Wasn't sewing much for a bit, but that is changing as I have been sewing for myself and doing some commissioned work. The first pictures are some my personal collection and the last ones are some of what I have been sewing for others. The first picture is of my prized lady, "Alura", a Dollikin that my sister Sandy gave me. Next is Jill put out by Vogue Doll in the 1950's. Found her at a second hand shop a couple of years ago and brought her home and cleaned her up. The next two are some American Girl dresses that I have done for a lady down in New Jersey for her three daughters. First are Easter dresses and then some dresses and picnic blanket for Memorial Day. She said that the town they live in goes all out for Memorial Day and she wanted to be able to have her daughter's dolls participate in the festivities. The last picture is a Ginny Vogue doll that I redressed for a lady that I work with. She was pleased to see her looking new again.
Have had lots of ideas going through my head for new outfits and now to find the time to sew them.
